Places to Explore in
Indonesia!
Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago has many things to offer to
tourists beyond Bali. With things slowly falling into place and re-opening,
these little-known gems rich of its distinct culture, customs and wide
diversity in terms of flora and fauna would be the perfect getaway for you and
your family!
A big boost to their economy comes from tourism and with so many new places
to see, we suggest you start working on your bucket list for Indonesia right
away!!!!
Sumatra Island
Situated in
Western Indonesia, this island is home to the most diverse range of species
including, Rafflesia Arnoldii (world's largest flower and one of
Indonesia's national flower), Titan Arum (world's largest unbranched
inflorescence), the Sumatran tiger, Sumatran rhinoceros, Sumatran elephant,
Sumatran ground cuckoo, and the Sumatran orangutan. The island has more
than ten national parks of which Mount Leuser, Kerinci Seblat, and Bukit
Barisan Selatan—collectively were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site
in 2004. Lake Toba, the largest volcanic lake is also situated here. A
trip to Sumatra Island with family would be a perfect family vacation filled
with facts and fun!

Java and Jakarta
Another island
in Indonesia, Java Island lies between Sumatra and Bali. The Borobudur
Temple situated here is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the largest
Buddhist temple in the world. Also, another heritage is Prambanan Temple
that is a must visit. Java has a total of over one hundred mountains, of which
many have been active volcanoes in the past. It is home to world's rarest
Rhinos that continues to survive even today and monkeys, wild pigs, crocodiles,
multiple species of birds, snakes, butterflies and many types of insects. The
island also has one of the best shopping markets in Bandung City which
is conveniently closer to Jakarta where you can buy souvenirs for all.
Apart from
being the capital, Jakarta is the blend where the diverse cultures of all the
ethnic groups in Indonesia meet and mingle. It is situated in Java Island, and
is the largest city of Indonesia. There are many cultural tours provided to
take one through the history of their land and customs. Though culturally rich,
it has a modern twist of having cute cafes and the most happening night clubs.
There are many clubs, pubs and bars having a variety of themes and choices
making them popular amongst tourists and locals. One can also visit a thousand
islands, which consist of the most serene beaches and caves. Need not look
for anymore bachelor/bachelorette party destinations now, do you!

Gili Islands
Swimming in
the middle of turquoise waters, surrounded by palm trees would surely mean
dreaming of a paradise. In all fairness these three islands, Gili Trawangan,
Gili Meno and Gili Air will blow one's mind off from the stress of
work and life with its water villas, activities like snorkelling, island
hopping and diving that are guaranteed fun. It is also known for having the
best diving spots in the country, Simon's reef, Shark Point and Manta
Point and there are a few diving schools too. Many resorts provide a unique
experience of getting closer to the seas with a glass-bottom kayak where one
can get a sneak peek of the world below.
With only clear waters around, you can finally pick up that unfinished
book, grab a beer and get to unwind here watching over that picturesque sunset!

East Nusa Tenggara
One of the
most exotic yet unexplored parts of Indonesia, East Nusa Tenggara is
home to many splendid waterfalls, hidden villages, hot springs, the spectacular
Kelimutu Volcano and of course the UNESCO declared World Heritage Site
and Komodo Islands, home to world's largest lizard, Komodo Dragon.
Hiking over the volcano to catch a breath-taking sunrise, bird-watching, to
trailing through the forests, this is ultimately a place to be ticked off one's
bucket list. It also has one of the rarest beaches in the world, Pink Beach,
essentially named after the fact that the sand is pink in colour. Almost
every corner here is Instagram worthy!

Kakaban Islands
Situated at East Kalimantan, one of the sights to behold would be the
famous mangrove-fringed lake, that has over a thousand jellyfishes. The
jellyfishes cannot harm humans, and hence diving in the lake, swimming and touching
these delightful creatures would make for a thrilling yet one-of-a-kind
experience.

spots, and hence ideal for your next vacation. Following all the WHO-

architected temples and shrines, the unique local hospitality to countless
